Hi!
I just wanted to tell you a little about Cheryl and myself and
this website. Cheryl retired about 5 years ago at not quite 50 years old. She is
not your sit around type so she decided to go to Corning Glassworks for a few
classes. That’s how it started. Over the last few years she has taken glass
classes up and down the east coast, learning different types of glass
design.
Our shop is located in a small town in Pennsylvania called
Hughesville. It’s setup in a 24X24 room formally called the 2 car storage
shed.
We have 4 kilns for various projects and 3 torches. We also
have a wet grinding area to form different shapes for slumped glass.
Our future plans are to install a hot shop and then we can blow
glass from molten glass.
Also Cheryl promises to teach me the glass making
part. I do silver work to enhance her glass work, but mostly I’m support (you
know) grunt work.
As time allows I will include pictures of other things that we
do. Cheryl is also photographer, quilter and avid gardener. Those pictures will
be under other talents.
I have been a woodworker for as long as I have been able to
walk. I also love to cook (part of the support thing). I also like to garden,
but the kind you eat.
This site is a work in progress. Enjoy it and watch for
changes.
Thanks
Cheryl and Mike
